- Country Christmas Train
Join us for a country train ride at Denton FarmPark and learn the true meaning of Christmas! Date: December 11 Time: 4:30 p.m. Location: Denton FarmPark 4259 Handy Rd. Denton, NC 27239 (Directions) When you arrive at Denton FarmPark for the Country Christmas Train, you get to walk down the lighted candy cane path to the train station. You can then get on the Handy Dandy RailRoad and take a ride around the 1/2 mile track and see some Christmas lights and a short movie about the true meaning of Christmas. Along the ride is a live nativity scene and a dedication to the military. When you finish the train ride, stop by the Gingerbread House and Laramie’s Cakery for fresh baked goods and gingerbread cookies that are made right in front of you. Continue down the lighted pathway to see the Grist Mill, General Store, Radio Museum, Church, Shoe Shop, Gas Station, Myres Car Shop, Doll Museum, Coke Museum, and enjoy a petting zoo and horse-drawn carriage rides. There are also fun rides for the kids, like a Ferris wheel, swinging tubs, and more! After you see the tiny Christmas village with all the lights, vendors, and interesting historical artifacts, you can get a tram ride down to the plantation. At the plantation, you will see what life was like a long time ago. See the blacksmith work in his shop, the plantation house, and how people lived and cooked. In the sleeping quarters, see how candles are made. When you're done, ride the tram back to modern times and follow the path to the Craft Barn and finish your night with some good food and many crafts inside before you head back home! - Tim Parton Concert
Child prodigy, song writer, arranger, producer, 3ABN executive, southern gospel professional, and independent touring artist—Tim Parton is in his 5th decade of music ministry! Although he has traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad, performing on various stages around the world, the church setting is where he prefers to be. Join us in welcoming Tim Parton as he shares his gift of musical performance with us! Date: December 3rd Time: 6:00 p.m. Location: Kernersville SDA Church (Directions) Biography: Tim Parton began playing piano by ear at age 6. Born into a singing family, he was accompanying at age eight and is currently in his 5th decade of music ministry. Tim has spent the majority of his life at the piano, but his work also includes: making accompaniment tracks for other artists, recording demos for songwriters, composing melodies for lyricists who aren’t instrument players, vocal arranging, recording studio production, and transcribing. Tim has traveled extensively throughout the United States and world, performing on various stages; but ministering to God’s people through gospel music and the great hymns of our faith are his favorite venue. In 1988, Tim began his professional career in southern gospel music, traveling with many of the genre’s top artists. In 2016, He accepted the role of General Manager for 3ABN’s Praise Him Christian music network. Since the spring of 2022, Tim has lived as a nomad, enjoying the spontaneity of the road, and seldom knowing where he’s going next; but assured that God is guiding every step.
- Tone & Stretch Class
Join Certified Personal Trainer, Alaina Echevarria, as she instructs her second class on proper muscle tone and stretching techniques! Alaina's Bio: Alaina became a personal trainer in 2018, after exercising through a series of personal tragedies, in order to help women not only physically improve their lives, but to have a healthy outlet for releasing their stress. She finds that women so often are amazing caregivers to everyone around them, but constantly put themselves last. She wants to help change that. Benefits of Exercise: Exercise strengthens the heart, lowers blood pressure and resting heart rate, helps retain calcium, increases oxygen, lowers cholesterol and fats in the blood, helps cleanse the bloodstream, increases muscle tone, promotes good sleep, produces endorphins, regulates blood sugar, increases metabolism, reduces stress and anxiety, clears the mind, helps maintain weight levels, aids in digestion, and helps strengthen the immune system. Date: Sunday, November 20th Time: 4:00 p.m. Location: Kernersville SDA Church, Gymnasium Program Details: Women over 12 years old, and of any ability or level, are invited to join this class. Enjoy sacred music performed by A Better Covenant, here at Kernersville! Saturday, October 15th, at 6:00 p.m. Andrew Schultz and Darby Jones were both introduced to music at a young age. They each have extensive experience in instrumentation, composition, arrangement, performance, theory, styles, and music as a ministry. Both have a Masters in music—Andrew from Converse College and Darby from Lee University. They began dating in 2016, and later formed “A Better Covenant”. They were married in 2019 and have released 3 albums together, performing at churches, camp meetings, and evangelistic series throughout the country. The ministry’s name is based on Hebrews 8:6-12, which notes that the new covenant is better because we now have direct access to the Savior. Learn more, visit: abettercovenantband.com
